PowerHousing Australia is proud to launch our platform for the upcoming Federal election, focusing on delivering affordable and sustainable housing solutions for all Australians.
Our vision is to ensure that every Australian has access to safe, secure, social and affordable housing, regardless of their background or income level.
Through targeted policies, including increased investment in public housing, support for first-home buyers, and reforms to rental markets, we aim to tackle housing affordability and reduce inequality.
Our commitment is to create a housing system that works for everyone, promoting long-term stability, inclusivity, and growth for communities across the nation.
Here’s our 4 key asks:
1. A 20-Year Housing and Homelessness Plan: Legislating a bipartisan, long-term strategy with clear milestones to provide stability and certainty in housing investment.
2. 1 in 10 homes as social or affordable: Committing to a national target of 10% of all housing stock as social or affordable housing by 2045.
3. Consistent, ongoing funding to grow a construction pipeline: Establishing long-term, stable funding to build 20,000 social and affordable homes per year, including expanding the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF).
4. Recognising housing as essential social infrastructure: Treating social and affordable housing as critical infrastructure and removing investment barriers for large-scale development.
